The Curiously Strong Mint reimagined for social media.
A few years back, I was freelancing at EVB, a social media agency that, at the time, was one of the best creative companies in the country. It was there I was given the chance to work on what became one of the best assignments I’ve ever been given. The brief was for Altoids mints.
Back in the ’90s the brand had made a name for itself in print and out-of-home as the “Curiously Strong Mint” through a series of interesting campaigns that highlighted product benefits. Namely strength.
The clients wanted to update the campaign in social media, so the ECD at EVB, my partner Kevin and I came up with an idea that celebrated all the “curiously strong” social media behaviors people were exhibiting on Facebook (and still do all these years later). If you have no idea what I’m talking about, watch the video.
I was a freelancer, and a lot of people at EVB helped make this happen long after my contract was up, but I’m proud of what I helped create. The campaign was featured in many international marketing shows including The Clio Awards.
